Why Nawtch Exists

I built Nawtch because the trackers I tried kept putting basic features behind a paywall, or asked me to make an account just to log a meal.

Nawtch is built and maintained by one person, and I use it every day myself.

At one point I planned a paid tier. I scrapped it, because charging for features contradicted the reason the app exists.

How Your Data Is Handled

There are no accounts. Your food, weight, and workout data never leaves your device. It is stored in your browser's IndexedDB, and there is no Nawtch server holding your logs.

Because of that, clearing your browser's site data can erase everything. Export a full backup from Settings and keep it somewhere safe. Food searches and barcode scans are looked up through Open Food Facts, and ads and analytics are run by Google. The Privacy Policy explains what is collected.

How the Content Is Sourced

Each calculator names the formula or guideline it uses, so you can check the math.

Diet and supplement pages present the evidence evenhandedly and never rank one option as the best. Where evidence is weak or missing, the page says so. For example, Whole30 has no independent clinical trials, and its page states that plainly.

The peptides section sorts each substance into one of three tiers: FDA-approved, off-label or limited history, and unregulated research chemicals. Pages in the two unapproved tiers give no dosing or administration information. Peptide pages carry a "last verified" date, and the section is reviewed monthly.

How Nawtch Is Funded

Nawtch is free to use. It is supported by non-intrusive ads. There are no paywalls.

Not Medical Advice

Nawtch is for education and personal tracking. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to a qualified clinician before changing your diet, supplements, or medication. See the Terms of Use.
