About This Calculator
This is a bottom-up grocery budgeting tool for anyone who wants to know what their real grocery list actually costs per week — meal preppers buying in bulk, budget-conscious shoppers comparing bulk vs. single-serving prices, or anyone sanity-checking a shopping trip against a weekly budget before they're standing in the store.
Target servings is how often you actually go through an item, not how much the package holds. Set it per day or per week, whichever is easier to think in — it's normalized to a weekly figure internally so every item paces out consistently. A $12 bag of rice eaten at 3 servings a week paces very differently than one eaten at 3 servings a day, even though the purchase price is identical; target servings is what captures that difference.
Search covers roughly 300 common grocery items — the same bundled database used in Bowl Builder — plus anything already in your saved Foods. It's meant to make quick entry convenient for everyday staples, not to be an exhaustive product catalog. If something isn't covered, add it manually with + Add a custom item — the math works exactly the same either way.
