Privacy Policy

Nawtch ("Nawtch," "we," "us") operates the free web application available at https://nawtch.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use the Service, and how it's handled.

Nawtch does not require an account, and your food logs, weight history, custom foods, workout programs, and settings are stored entirely on your own device using your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). This information is never transmitted to Nawtch, and we have no server-side database of your personal tracking data — because we don't have a server at all. If you clear your browser's site data, this information is permanently lost, and Nawtch cannot recover it.

The only data collected about your use of the Service is limited, aggregate usage analytics and advertising-related data, described below.

We do not collect, receive, or store:

• Your food, calorie, macro, or cost logs
• Your weight history
• Your workout programs or exercise data
• Any personal profile information, since no account exists

All of the above stays on your device, in your browser, under your control.

Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics to understand general usage of the Service — for example, which pages are visited and how often. This includes standard analytics data such as approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and general engagement metrics. This data is not linked to any Nawtch account, because none exists. You can learn more about how Google Analytics handles data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Google AdSense. Nawtch is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance.

• For users in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, we currently serve only non-personalized ads, meaning ads are not based on your individual browsing history or interests. This may change in the future; if it does, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required by law through a certified consent management platform before doing so.
• For users elsewhere, ads served through AdSense may be personalized based on data Google collects across sites, in accordance with Google's own policies. You can review and adjust your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com, and learn more about interest-based advertising opt-outs at optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Open Food Facts. Barcode scanning works by sending the scanned barcode directly from your browser to the Open Food Facts API to retrieve product information. This request is made directly by your browser to Open Food Facts — Nawtch does not see, store, or process this data on any server of ours. Open Food Facts' handling of this request is governed by their own privacy policy, available on their website.

The Service uses:

• Browser local storage (IndexedDB) to store your tracking data and settings, entirely on your device.
• Cookies from Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described above, for analytics and advertising purposes.

We do not use cookies or tracking of any kind to identify you personally or to build a profile of you across other websites ourselves — any such cross-site profiling that occurs is performed by Google as described in their own policies, not by Nawtch.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or the CCPA (California) regarding personal data, including rights to access, delete, or object to processing of your data. Because Nawtch does not maintain accounts or store personal tracking data on any server, there is generally no personal data held by us to access or delete beyond the limited analytics and advertising data described above, which is processed by Google on our behalf. You can exercise rights related to that data directly through the Google tools linked above, or contact us at the address below with any questions.

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
